Meeting with Banca UBAE’s foreign network

The event organised by Banca UBAE and Assafrica & Mediterraneo came to a successful conclusion on Thursday, 10 November 2011.

For the first time ever, Banca UBAE’s foreign Advisors – in particular those for Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, the GCC and the SAARC countries – met with the Italian enterprises. Here are all the presentations made on that day.

Believe in the political rebirth under way in the South Mediterranean-rim countries, trust in their economic turnaround and count on their development. This is no time to step back and be afraid. Notwithstanding the disorientation brought about by international media, Italian enterprises must have the courage to go over to the other side of the Mediterranean. In essence, this is the call Banca UBAE and Assafrica & Mediterraneo reiterated on Thursday, 10 November 2011 during the meeting organised at Confindustria’s Rome headquarters, which was followed by bilateral encounters between companies and UBAE’s foreign Advisors.

“The new management cadres of some countries that experienced the Arab spring were trained overseas and in some cases the climate for foreign investment is quite favourable in such countries”, Banca UBAE’s General Manager Biagio Matranga pointed out as an aside at the meeting. He said that “these countries have an economic potential that is bound to explode. Accordingly, we should feel confident because investment opportunities are remarkable. Algeria and Libya above all are countries on which attention should be focussed. Actually, Libya will go through sweeping changes over the coming months and we are ready to do our job by giving support to the enterprises”.

The purpose of the meeting was indeed to illustrate the huge potential of these economies to the 200 and more entrepreneurs who took part in the event.
